Description - This American Foursquare residence is a square shaped two story frame structure with an asphalt shingled low pitched hip roof. Roof features include wide overhanging flared eaves, a wide frieze, finials, and hipped roof dormers located centrally on the front and rear faces of the roof. It has a rusticated stone foundation and clapboard exterior. The main entrance is located centrally on the west facade and features a four light transom. An open front porch features a hipped roof, and paired Tuscan columns atop a low knee-wall. Main facade windows are eighteen-over-one double hung with ornamental shutters and Classical architraves. The west dormer features a twelve-over-one double hung window flanked by two smaller nine-over-one sashes. A brick chimney is located on the south facade near the front (west side) of the structure. A two-story projection extending from the north half of the east (rear) facade features a jetty and a rear entrance.

Historical Background - Original owner Oran O. Russell, listed in City Directories as General Manager of Gilcrest Lumber Co., lived in this home from 1908-1914. From 1915-ca. 1922 Dr. W. P. Allen lived in the home. Dr. Allen’s obituary reported that he was chief of the Greeley Hospital staff and had a large practice. He also had farming interests in the area.
